Past Events

  • Sat., Oct. 16, 2010 – St. Pius V Harvest Festival @ 49 Elmhurst Ave in Providence, RI, 02908-2892. Dave Gawron, Charlotte Lincourt, Joseph Morse, and Adam Landry played fairly light pop/rock songs during lunch, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Breakaway, Hey There Delilah, and The Climb were just a few of the songs we did. Actually, our harder rock songs like All Star and Kryptonite were the most popular. The Harvest Festival is a big fund-raiser for the school. There were all sorts of good food and fun to be had, with lots of games and prizes for kids. It was a fun day, for sure, and for a good cause.
  • Sat., Sept. 25, 2010 – St. Vincent de Paul Walk for the Poor @ Colt State Park in Bristol, RI. Dave Gawron, Charlotte Lincourt, Joseph Morse, and Adam Landry played praise and worship songs from 12:00 to 1:30. The event was sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Walkers arrived at 9 and walked at 10. Coffee and baked goods were available in the morning, as well as chowder, hot dogs, pizza and more in the afternoon. There was be a balloon man, face painting, pumpkin painting, a blood drive, and a non-perishable food drive. It was a fun day, for sure, and for a good cause.
  • Sat., Sept. 11, 2010 – Day of Reflection and Prayer for Peace @ St. Theresa’s Shrine. Dave Gawron, Justin Dery, and Emily Rapisarda played beautiful, mellow praise and worship songs from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. This event was sponsored by the Rhode Island Knights of Columbus.
  • August 15, 2010, we played at the National Organization of Marriage RI Family Day, 3-8 pm, at the Aldrich Mansion, 836 Warwick Neck Ave, Warwick, RI 02889. The Marriage Day Celebration included live worship music from ServantSong, Glenn Stanton from Focus on the Family as the keynote speaker, plenty of food, and activities for children. Tickets were sold for a cook-out style meal, but attendees also brought picnic dinners. It was a great event at which to play music, but also a great event to attend and spend time with other families.
  • April 9-11, 2010, we served as the “house band” for the Diocese of Portland Youth Conference in Maine. It was truly a fantastic weekend. Jackie Francois was the featured speaker for the weekend, and she was wonderful. The kids (and chaperones!) had a blast.
  • Tue., March 9, 2010 – SAY YES @ St. Michael’s in Smithfield, RI.
    We ran the SAY YES program again. We added a projected slide-show that really enhanced the event.
  • Tue., March 2, 2010 – SAY YES @ Precious Blood in Woonsocket, RI.
    Our SAY YES program incorporates the story of teenage martyr Cassie Bernall, making the Stations of the Cross accessible to teenagers, supported by our music.
  • Fri., Feb. 12, 2010 – Concert @ St. Mary’s School, 23 Marshall St., Putnam, CT.
    We played for the students of the St. Mary school as well as parishioners and other Christians. It was an ecumenical night of sharing and praying with both our Catholic and non-Catholic brothers and sisters. Admission was a donation and all proceeds went to St. Mary School. Tables of baked, goods, snacks, drinks, and inspirational items and CD’s were for sale. This was a fun filled, Christ-centered, family event. Dave and Adam also stopped by the school earlier in the day to lead a songwriting workshop. They gathered up the students and teachers from grades K-8 and ended up writing a theme song for the school.
  • Sat., Jan. 30, 2010 we played at the Diocese of Portland Winter Jam 2010 at the Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, ME, (we were on from 5:00 to 6:30 pm). Also performing were ValLimar Johnson from California, Against the Grain from New Hampshire, and others. It was a rockin’ fun time. There were 300+ in attendance.
  • Fri., Jan. 29, 2010 we played at the Catholic Junior High Gathering at the St. Maximilian Parish in Scarborough, ME (we were on from 8:30 to 9:30 pm). ValLimar Jansen also performed, and Adam and Marc from our band got to back her up. A fun time was had by all.
  • Mon., Jan. 25, 2010 we played a fun, up-tempo concert for the St. Robert Bellarmine parish in Johnston, RI to kick off the Winter 2010 session of the church’s confirmation class. We and the teens had a blast. We played a couple new cover songs that went really well – “Every Time I Breathe” by Big Daddy Weave and “Give Yourself Away” by NewSong.
  • Sun., Dec. 13, 2009 we played a Christmas concert @ the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Woonsocket, RI. It was a fundraiser to help the continue the excellent community outreach ministries provided by the church. We played our own special arrangements of many classic Christmas hymns like “What Child Is This” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. It was a very kid-friendly event, too. Heading into intermission, we played some fun seasonal songs like “Rudolph” and “Jingle Bell Rock”, and Santa himself even made an appearance. We even played a few of our favorite Praise & Worship songs. There were some tasty refreshments like hot chocolate, cookies, and coffee available as well.
  • Sat., Sept. 26, 2009 – SonSplash Christian Music Festival @ River Island Park in Woonsocket, RI. We played our favorite, mostly up-tempo originals and covers from 12:15 to 1:15. Some highlights included our newest original “Word” and favorite covers like “Awesome God,” “Never Alone,” and others. Other bands (Gospel Inspirations, 4 A Cross, Cross Purpose) played through the day from 11am-6pm. There were community tables and services available like blood pressure screens, etc. The CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association) was there with a tent. There was a section just for the kids – games, bouncer, etc. Yummy hot dogs, pop corn, cotton candy, etc. were available for consumption. And everything was FREE!!!
  • Sat., Sept. 19, 2009 – St. Mary Circle of Fun in Putnam, CT. We played fun, mostly up-tempo songs from 5:30 to 7:30. Some highlights included some of our newest originals “Word” and “Witness” and others. Also, the church youth group stopped by and enjoyed “Big House” and “The Happy Song” and other favorite covers. The event is actually a carnival with rides, food, fun, and games for all ages. It was a fun day.
  • Sat., Sept. 5, 2009 – Day of Prayer @ St. Theresa’s Shrine in Harrisville, RI. We played mellow praise and worship songs from 2:30 to 3:15 and 3:45 to 4:45 while confessions will be heard. Also during the day was the Divine Mercy chaplet at 2:00 and mass at 5:00. Morning activities from 11:00 to 2:00 included picnic lunch 12:30 to 1:30, talks by Fr. Marot and others, and prayers led by Bishop Gelineau and others. This event was sponsored by the Rhode Island Knights of Columbus.
  • 6:00 pm, Sun., July 19 @ the St. Thomas More parish picnic in Narragansett, RI. We played while the parishioners enjoyed good food and conversation. Being a parish picnic, we played some non-worship songs like the Beatles’ “Let It Be” and several couples got up and danced. It was a beautiful beachfront concert.
  • Fri.-Sun., April 17-19, 2009 in Portland, Maine, we ministered the 2009 Youth Conference for the Diocese of Portland, Maine. They liked us so much, they asked us to do it again next year even before the weekend was finished!
  • Wed., April 15, 2009 @ St. Agatha’s Catholic Church in Woonsocket, RI, we played a Praise & Worship concert featuring many new songs that we learned for the Maine Youth Conference.
  • Tue., Mar. 10, 2009 @ St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Smithfield, RI, we led an evening of Lenten praise & worship for parish Confirmation students. We combined the Stations of the Cross with the story of Cassie Bernall and some worship songs, and the kids really responded to the emotional program that highlighted our need for Jesus in our lives.
  • Sat., Jan. 10, 2009 we played a Praise & Worship concert @ the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Woonsocket, RI. It snowed, which kept the crowd down, but those who attended enjoyed the evening with us.
  • Sun., Jan. 4, 2009 we played our second and last La Salette Christmas concert of the season. Both concerts were very well received.
  • Tue., Dec. 23, 2008 @ the La Salette Shrine we played a Christmas Concert, 7:45-9:00 pm in the Concert Hall. We were joined by a choir of ten Woonsocket youth that will add some beautiful 4-part arrangements to a fun mix of classic and contemporary Christmas songs and hymns including Silent Night, Christmas Canon Rock (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Feliz Navidad, O Holy Night, and many more.
  • 12:00 am, Dec. 25, 2008 @ the Precious Blood Catholic Church, members of ServantSong led the music ministry for Midnight Christmas mass.
  • 6:30 pm, Tue., Dec. 2 @ St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Smithfield, RI, we led an evening of Advent praise & worship for parish Confirmation students. Melissa really connected with the kids about letting Jesus be re-born in their lives this holiday season. Father Valentine helped us lead a beautiful Holy Hour during the event.
  • 7:30 pm, Sat., Nov. 29, we participated in the 3rd Annual Stadium Theatre Christmas event. A great variety of acts performed that night. We played two songs to close out the first Act leading intermission – our own special arrangements of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s “Christmas Canon Rock” – and were joined by ten teens from the St. Agatha’s of Woonsocket parish.
  • 8:00 pm, Sat., Oct. 25 @ the Common Ground coffeehouse in Fitchburg, MA. We played Contemporary Christian tunes while folks listened, played pool, drank coffee, and played cards.
  • 7:00 pm, Sat., Oct. 11 @ the House of Grace coffeehouse at the Grace Baptist Church in Milford, CT. We led a very energetic evening of up-tempo praise & worship.
  • 6:30 pm, Thu., July 24 @ the St. Thomas More parish picnic in Narragansett, RI. We played while the parishioners enjoyed good food and conversation. Being a parish picnic, we played some non-worship songs like John Denver’s “Take Me Home country Roads” and the Beatles’ “Let It Be” for the first time. A good time was had by all.
  • 7:30 pm, Sat., June 21 @ the Upper Room Christian coffeehouse in West Warwick, RI 02893. We played a fun set with some new originals and covers.
  • 7:00 pm, Sat., Apr. 22 @ St. Agatha’s Catholic Church, ServantSong and a choir of 13 teens led the music ministry for the 2008 Confirmation mass.
  • 7:00 pm, Sat., Apr. 19 @ the Lightkeepers’ Cafe Christian coffeehouse in the Lighthouse Assembly of God church in Westport, MA 02790. We debuted our latest song, Above All, which was very well received.
  • 8:00 pm, Sat., Mar. 22 @ St. Agatha’s Catholic Church, members of ServantSong led the music ministry for the Easter vigil mass.
  • 9:00 am, Sat., Mar. 15 @ Bryant University (Smithfield, RI 02917). We ministered the bi-lingual Diocesan Religious Education Workshop Day mass.
  • 7:00 pm, Sat., Feb. 16 @ the Upper Room Christian coffeehouse in West Warwick, RI 02893. We played to a standing-room only crowd that even called for an encore.
  • 10am ET, Sat. Feb. 9 on 1320 WARL Attleboro / Providence. Bassist/songwriter Dave Gawron, keyboardist Mark D. Johnson, and manager Mike Grimmer appeared on the Heart Rock Radio show for a two-hour discussion. We ended up with a recording of the broadcast, so we’ll post it on the web soon, hopefully.

  • We played a two-hour set to close out the 2nd Annual Catholic Family Gathering on September 16 in Little Compton, RI. Earlier in the day, speakers included Fr. John Randall (keynote) and George Wrobel (family therapist). The day was sponsored by Kathy Lilla’s Morningstar Christian Center.
  • ServantSong played at Mike Tellier’s coffeehouse at the Father Marot CYO Center in Woonsocket, RI, on Friday, August 17, 2007. It was the debut of our “Road to Paradise” program, where we search for Christ, find Him, join Him in His kingdom of heaven, and praise Him with all the angels and saints. We played some original songs from our “Glory Be” album, plus a few Contemporary Christian favorites like “I Can Only Imagine,” plus for the first time live, we played our new songs “Broken” and “Witness.” The full band played for a full two hours.
  • Dave Gawron ministered the June 24, 2007, Medjugorge anniversary mass and cookout in Attleboro, MA. He was joined by fellow ServantSong member Damon Blair on lead guitar and also singer, Diane Saia.
  • Dave Gawron ministered the June 16, 2007, Walk for Life mass at the Father Marot CYO Center in Woonsocket, RI. He was joined by singer, Charlotte Lincourt.
  • We played at the St. Charles Borromeo soup kitchen in Providence, RI, on Thursday, May 31, 2007. The soup kitchen patrons (and volunteers) enjoyed our music immensely.
  • We ministered the Easter vigil mass at the Precious Blood church in Woonsocket, RI, on Saturday evening, April 7, at 8:00 pm.
  • We ministered the walking Stations of the Cross at All Saints at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 6, 2006.
  • We ministered the Marian Association of Northern Rhode Island’s New Year’s Eve Adoration from 9pm to midnight on December 31, 2006 at the St. Theresa of the Little Flower Shrine Catholic Church in Harrisville, Rhode Island. We sprinkled songs in between the four mysteries of the Rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet. Dave Gawron and Diane Saia were the attending band members for this event.
  • Our album release party on Sunday, November 19 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Woonsocket, RI was awesome!
  • We performed a concert at the Newell Shelter in Capron Park in Attleboro, MA in conjunction with a CROP walk. It ran from about 1-3 pm, Sunday, October 15. CLICK HERE for more information about CROP walks.
  • We ministered an evening of Praise, Worship, and Fellowship at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Woonsocket, RI. It was fun and fulfilling for all who attended. It ran from about 7-9 pm, Saturday, September 23. A $5 donation at the door was suggested but by no means mandatory –- funds benefited Sacred Heart youth.
  • We ministered the first annual Catholic Family Gathering at Maurolou Farm in Little Compton, RI. We had fun providing music leading up to and during dinner. We also ministered the Divine Mercy Chaplet and adoration. The event was in early September, 2006.
  • We ministered a wedding at the St. Joseph’s church in Woonsocket, RI, on Saturday afternoon, June 24, at 2:00pm.
  • We ministered the mass for the Father Marot CYO Walk for Life on Saturday morning, June 3, at 10:00am.
  • We ministered the walking Stations of the Cross at All Saints at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 14, 2006.
  • Recording our album went great. Joe Moody was a true master in getting the best possible sound out of all of our voices and instruments. Danger Studio in Providence, Rhode Island is a great place to record.
  • We ministered an evening of rosaries (the four sets of mysteries) and adoration (9pm-midnight) and midnight mass at the Father Marot CYO Center in Woonsocket, RI on Saturday, December 31, 2005.
  • We performed a Christmas concert (3pm) and ministered a mass (4pm) at the La Salette shrine in Attleboro, MA on Saturday, December 10.
  • We ministered a youth mass (10am) at the St. Lawrence Catholic church in New Bedford, MA on Sunday, December 11.
  • We performed “The Power of Your Love” plus our original “Glory Be” songs at the “La Salette Shines” variety show at the La Salette shrine in Attleboro, MA on Saturday, October 22, 2005.
  • We ministered the Woonsocket CYO Center’s Marian Conference (featuring Alan Keyes and Tatiana) mass at the Woonsocket CYO Center on Sunday, October 16, 2005.
  • We ministered mass on Sunday, September 18 at 2pm, provided a concert that night at 7pm, and ministered mass again the next night (on Monday, September 19), at the La Salette shrine in Attleboro, MA.
  • We played at the September 16th Katrina Benefit Concert along with other artists like Cross Pollen, Juniper’s Daughter, and Ryan Meyers. It was at the Xaverian High School in Westwood, MA.
  • We ministered a wonderful evening of inter-faith praise (a part of the “48-hour House of Praise”) on Friday, August 12, from 7 to 9pm, at the First United Methodist Chrrch of Woonsocket.
  • We ministered the Steubenville East “send-off” mass on Friday, July 8, at noon, at the All Saints church.
  • We put on a Praise & Worship concert (ROCK THE CROSS!) at the All Saints parish on Saturday night, June 18, 2005.
  • We ministered the walking Stations of the Cross at All Saints on Friday afternoon, March 25, 2005.
  • We ministered a musical Holy Hour (SURRENDER!) at All Saints on Saturday night, January 15, 2005.
  • We put on a Praise & Worship concert at the All Saints parish on Friday night, October 22, 2004.
  • We provided musical entertainment at the All Saints Youth Ministry coffeehouse on Friday night, July 23, 2004.
  • We have ministered monthly All Saints Youth Ministry prayer meetings from 2002 to 2005.
